Jim, Sam, and Baby Jack

I have 3 wonderful and handsome grandsons.. Jim is 11 years, Sam is 8 years, and Jack is 11 days old here. He was born on December 18th. He sure took his time and gave his mom a bit of trouble. Everyone (that would be Mel) is fine and healing great now...

I love baby lips,,, and fingers, and toes, and noses, etc.... But look at his little baby lips....

Jack was so good.. he really loved this fur.. he tried to eat it, but then found his thumb instead.

I can't tell you how much the boys love being a big brother...

They couldn't get enough of holding him.

I really think Jack knows who they are and feels so safe and secure when either Jim or Sam is holding him. He seemed to melt into their arms.

I love all of the photos I took of my boys but I really love love love this one above and the next bunch below...

We like to think Jack was giving kisses to the boys..

When my friend Vickie came to visit from Dallas, we went to a few antique stores in the Sellwood area of Portland. I found a bunch of noses that I had to have... at the time I had no idea what they would be used for.....

As you can see I found a use.....

The boys loved just laying and letting Jack sleep on them...

And Jack was very comfortable.

A very good baby, not once did he cry.. (maybe I didn't really give him much of a chance.. I probably didn't put him down for the first couple hours after I got to the house) or fuss... just let the boys, and myself just hold and cuddle with him.

Another favorite!!! Such handsome boys.. all 3 of them!

Meet Holly.

She is a co-worker of mine.. not the same department,, but in the same store..

Holly wants to be a make-up artist and has lots of ideas as to what she would like to do with that..

Since I have lots of ideas as to what I want to do with my photography we decided to go play.

Loving the shoes!!! And they are pink!!! With Sparkles too!!!

More shoes... :)

We had a great time playing today and Holly and I will be playing again soon.. Hoping next time to have Danny with us!!

Yesterday Wally and I drove up to Klickitat, Washington. We went to take engagement pictures (I actually took these pictures and Wally was my assistant) for Adam and Rachel.

Adam is Wally's cousin.. Rachel is his beautiful bride to be..

Playing around waiting for the photographer to tell them what to do... I actually was just watching for something like this!!! :)

I actually loved this little falling down house that Rachel found! I love love love the window and we tried a few different things here.

Schere is a freshman at University of Oregon in Eugene..

Corrie is in high school, and Lynn is the mom of both these beauties..

I have so many favorites of this session,, but this one is one of my most favorites!!!

I am also loving this of Lynn! She is a beauty!

These girls were so fun and they have a genuine love for each other that was soooo nice to see!!!

Reflections of Me'

Wally and I were in Charleston, South Carolina last week. We did some walking.. (and I mean some as in one hell of alot!!) My sister Gillian was the best tour guide as we walked along the alleys and side streets of Charleston.. Beautiful homes, store fronts and just all around beautiful buildings!!

While we were walking we found this beautiful building that was in process of being remodeled. We all know that people are facing hard times and this home was no exception. It looked as thoe it had been gutted and was in process.... and then abandoned. The walls were gone and only studs were in their place, the wheel barrel and shovels were left standing in place..

It leaves so much to the imagination as to what this home could look like and what you could do to a place like this! (I love love love the brick walls)

I took the opportunity to try a couple of "self portraits" ... Since I am not a very photogenic person I actually liked how these turned out!!

So here you have... "Reflections of Me'"

MCP Actions Blueprint Contest

Hi,, as you know, I have been studying and working on learning the ins and outs of photography. Being self taught this has been somewhat a struggle at times. I have had some help and advise from some very talented photographers along the way..

My next endeavor, that I have started learning (self taught again) is the editing part of photography. I have been using Photoshop Elements and with that I have discovered MCP Actions. These are programs you can install in your Photoshop program to help with your editing.. There are many different actions and I am hoping to get a few more sometime soon.

The newest program I have started using is Lightroom.. this is an extension of Photoshop or it could be said the other way around. Either way I love Lightroom!! MCP Actions has an action for Lightroom coming out very soon that I am hoping to win!!! Soooooo.....

I am entering a contest for MCP Actions. I am showing the before and after of a few shoots I have done and edited using MCP Actions. I am really new to using the actions but found what they can do is amazing and I am loving this!! I would love to win the new Lightroom Action they are offering

in this contest!!!

MARY....

We have Mary here.. I went to Wisconsin for this shoot. (I live in Oregon) I have been friends with Mary's mom/family since we were all kids. I couldn't refuse when asked to do her graduation portraits.

Mary being the beauty she is had just a few issues before I got there.. I looked for an editing tool to help me with this issue and another photographer friend (thank you Melissa https://www.facebook.com/melissasweckerphotography ) pointed me in the direction of MCP Actions "Magic Face" (link to follow)

I first used the healing tool and some minor shadow lighting.. then used Magic Face to soften and even out the skin. Now I know Mary was a beauty before the editing.. but she is now stunning!!! Thank you MCP (Jodi and Erin) for all your help in the beginning of my using any MCP Actions (this was my first)!!

Below we have Mary again.. this time I used the same process with the healing tool, and Magic Face as above,, but I also used Mini Fusion.

I have only used the Mini Fusion so far.. It offers color conversions and tints among other things.. Give it a try!!

Below we have Jessie and I also used Magic Face and Mini Fusion on her.. The top Photo is after Magic Face but before Fusion.. The bottom is with all the actions used.. I love it!!
So In closing I would like to say how helpful I found Erin and Jodi over at MCP Actions!! When I had trouble and needed help or just had a dumb question they answered my email's so fast,, and even called on the phone. You do not find customer service like this very often anymore!!

I am hoping that Ellie and Jenna will like my entries.. and as much as I hope I win one of the presets for Lightroom... I wish congratulations to those who do win!!!

Ballet meets Harley Davidson

I had an idea of taking beautiful point dancers in costume and putting them in different places.. alley's, stairs, ladders, anything that was different and out of the ordinary for a point dancer to be. I invited the dancers of Legacy Ballet Studio in Albany to come play with me.

On the day the girls and I were going to play was soooooo stinking hot (into the mid 90's), and there was the first home game for OSU (Oregon State University) in Corvallis (where we wanted to go for the alleys). The traffic was going to be horrible so we stayed closer to town (Albany).

Sooo as I was saying, the girls came to play at my house. Here they found 2 Harley's in the back yard... I also have a bunch of straw bales.. So we played...

First we went to the Pumpkin Mill Antique Shoppe in Albany.. Linda was so fabulous to let us come play at her shop.. Thank you Linda! You are a doll!!

We started with just getting everything together.. The church was a small church and the and reception all in the same location.

Knowing where to walk and end us is always a good thing..

I was giving the honor of being the photographer for my friend Paul and his beautiful bride Kim.

I have known Paul for many years and he is an amazing photographer himself. He would teach (he would try,, I wasn't a very good student) me things about photography and so when he asked me to be the photographer for his wedding I was really honored.

It was a beautiful day out,, and we did have a good time.

Here we were in the Columbia Gorge. I love this picture.. probably because I love the Gorge.....

This is my good friend Erin. She has to be one of the funniest people I know.

I got a new lens and needed to practice with it and so Erin came out to play with me. After a late morning breakfast ... off we went.

We started in the alleys of Corvallis and when the weather wouldn't cooperate,,, we looked elsewhere.

We were driving and found a train depot with a couple cars that weren't going anywhere......

I loved these shots... (again in the rain)

After the train,, we moved to the cemetery.. Now that was fun! I was waiting to see bodies walking to me to try and eat me.. (too many scary movies for me as a kid)

I think this was both Erin's and my favorite of all the pictures I took.

This post is all about the Florence girls.. Abbie, Ellie, and Phyllis.

I have knows these girls since Phyllis was maybe around 3 years old and we called her "Princess Philly".. she still is a princess to me.

Here is Abbie and her princess Paige. These really are 2 different pictures,, but I love them both!

One of my all time favorites with Dominic and Abbie.. (I know Abbie,, you didn't like the foot picture, but I love it!! Totally you! )

Paige is so her mother!!! Full of spit and vinegar!!

Now theses beauties are Olivia and Madelyn.. they belong to Ellie.
Twins and I never could tell them apart. Good thing their mom and dad can.

This little angle is just under 2 weeks old. As much as I had planned on doing when I did this shoot with her,,, she had other ideas. As is with babies you go on their schedule. She didn't really want to play with me, so I got what pictures I could.

What I got was priceless!!!

These couple of pictures are so special. Just a hint of a smile and then full blown!!! Even a bit fuzzy I had to put this (top pic) in.. One of those pictures that just makes you melt!

Like I said,, I didn't get many pictures but what I did get I love!

This lovely lady is Ariana. She is like one of the family. She loves our kids... all 3 of them. (that would be Trixie, Pixie, and Harley.. our dogs) The thing is,, they all 3 just love her too.

Did you know it is a felony to be on railroad tracks?? We didn't either. Not until the sheriff told me as he was was calling both our ID's into the station. Good thing we were done already. ;)
